move before the start of their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, but it might not be the one that many people have been expecting. Yesterday, Alec Bettinger was optioned to down Triple-A Nashville, and today the Brewers announced that Hoby Milner has been recalled to take the open spot on the active roster.LHP Hoby Milner has been recalled from Triple-A Nashville pic.twitter.com/V7j4xc0LTX— Milwaukee Brewers June 3, 2021Bettinger’s year of riding the shuttle continues https://www.fanmb.com/rob-deer-jersey, as he was called up from Nashville on the May 29th to serve as the extra man for the double header in Washington https://www.fanmb.com/josh-lindblom-jersey, then was optioned back down, then was recalled almost immediately to fill in for the injured Angel Perdomo, and now he goes back down. In all, he has only appeared in four games this season — three with Milwaukee at the big league level, and one five inning start for the Sounds. He hasn’t actually pitched since May 23rd, so some regular work in Nashville could be to his and the team’s benefit.Milner has made one big league appearance for the Brewers this season, allowing one run in 2.0 innings against the Braves on May 15th. He’s been nails for Nashville, though, posting eight scoreless appearances covering 9.0 innings. In 2021 he’s punched out 13 at the highest level of the minors without allowing a walk, has given up only one base hit, and has registered four saves.Safe, at least for the moment, is Keston Hiura. Manager Craig Counsell did not exactly give Hiura a vote of confidence recently as he continues to slump https://www.laagear.com/mike-trout-jersey, and he is out of the starting lineup for tonight’s series opener at American Family Field.Statistics courtesy of Baseball-Reference
